AI Governance for Owners and Directors

Your people are already using AI, sanctioned or not. This session trains the owners and directors accountable for that: the risks you personally carry, the policy you write yourself in the room, and the confidence to stand behind an AI decision at the board table.

We’ve trained over 1,000 people how to use AI.

Through in-person, practical, hands-on workshops, not keynote events

Workshop at a glance

  • One 4-hour session

  • Plus a 90-minute follow-up

  • $2,950 + GST per business

  • Owners and directors

  • Delivered in person

How it is delivered

Only your business in the room.

Priced per business, not per person

The session runs for your owners and directors, and nobody else's. Before it, you complete a short pre-course intake covering your tools, your data and how AI is being used across the business today, so the four hours run on your actual exposure, not a generic example.

$2,950 + GST per business, delivered in person at your premises or a venue you choose.

Who it is for

The people accountable when it goes wrong.

Built for owners, directors and boards. Not the people using AI most, the people answerable for how it is used. Most arrive knowing their staff are already in the tools and uneasy about what that means. Four hours later the unease has been replaced with rules you wrote and can defend.

What you leave with

A policy you wrote, not one you bought.

Your own AI policy

Written by you in the session, in plain English, ready to put in front of your people.

A clear risk picture

The AI risks you are accountable for, in plain terms: privacy, data, misinformation, and staff use you cannot see.

Privacy Act grounding

What the Privacy Act 2020 puts on you personally, and what that means for the tools your business runs.

Rules for staff use

What is sanctioned, what is not, and wording your people will actually follow rather than work around.

Board-table confidence

The judgement to stand behind an AI decision, or challenge one, with reasons you can defend.

A follow-up in place

Ninety minutes booked for after the policy has met real use, so it gets sharpened rather than shelved.

How it runs

One working session, one reality check.

01

Two hours, everything set before you finish.

The risks, the law, and your policy

  • Where AI is already inside your business, including the use nobody has told you about

  • The risks that land on owners and directors: privacy, customer data, misinformation and confidential leakage

  • What the Privacy Act 2020 requires of you personally, in plain English, with your business as the example

  • Write your own AI policy in the room: what is allowed, what never goes into the tools, and who decides

  • How to put the policy in front of your people so it lands as permission with limits, not a ban

90 Minute Follow-Up

The policy meets the business

  • Work through the questions and edge cases your policy has met since the session

  • Adjust your rules with a month of real use behind them, so they stay workable and stay yours

  • Agree how you will keep the policy current as the tools change, without needing outside help each time

He delivers practical, in-person AI workshops and executive education across Te Tauihu, including through the Nelson AI Sandbox and Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce and has keynoted numerous events. His sessions are grounded in real use cases, real privacy obligations, and zero hype.

J has trained more than 1,000 people across Te Tauihu and beyond. He serves as a CMO and AI Officer for hire for multiple companies, which gives him invaluable real-life experience in real businesses, like yours.

I'm a developer who has dabbled with some AI here and there. The AI workshop that was held was an introductory workshop designed for users totally new to AI. What impressed me about the workshop (other than J's personable and entertaining style) was how it was able to introduce our newer users to AI effectively and still give me some insights and learnings to take away and apply. Would highly recommend.

Life-changing stuff. Quoting that took two hours takes twenty minutes. Thank you

J from Endevo ran a foundational AI workshop for our team. As a software company, we assumed we were already ahead of the curve — but outside expertise gave us a much clearer view of how these tools can support a range of roles. We now share a common language and understanding to build on. J's approach engaged everyone, from expert users to complete beginners, and we're confident every team member will have a practical use case within the week. Productivity gains from AI are about to take off.

Gail Murdoch

CEO, Nimbus ERP Software

We brought J in to train our team on AI. The difference from a typical course was that everything was built on our actual work. No generic demos: the team learned on our real processes and documents. Sceptical team members started using it the next morning and were using it confidently a few days later. Just as importantly, they understand the boundaries regarding client information. J' training is practical and security focused which is required for our industry and made us feel even more comfortable. If you want your team actually using AI rather than just talking at about it, get J in.

Nicky and Steph

Directors, Redwood Insurance Brokers

J trained our team six months ago, and the training has held with the team picking up so many use cases and gaining efficiencies. Many were not confident enough to even start using AI, but after the training, everything changed. J has a way of making people feel safe in the workshops. His personable and entertaining style of presenting put our team at ease.
